I'd like to think that the main theme introduce in the prologue of wow is the Others. Quite unlikely since they - the retinue leaded by Forley Prester- are on the road to casterly rock, but remember that winter has indeed come to linger all over Westeros for a long, long, long while, and it would take all of us readers aback. Personally Id love it.
And about the prologue POV, indeed it's not of high relevance since all of them becomes dead quite soon. It'd be awesome to read a quarrel between the Lannister men-at-arms and some group of brothers without banners and then just one or two or however many of Others you want. I don't see Nymeria on all of this since the Mercy references about the wolf dream with pines, but all the same it could be possile too that on top of the.hills the pines also grow up. But they are likelier on higher spots I think.
I dont know why, but if the POV is someone we already know, i'd put my money on Sybelle Spicer. I dont see why Martin would need a maester to explain the thing about the potions Jeyne took due to not breeding, since he has Sybelle, the daughter of a woods witch came from Asshai, who probably has one or two skills about potions and magics. And besides it'd break some patterns: the maester pattern and the male POV pattern, but all the same we could get a bunch of power links about the west and Asshai'i magics info that could be even related somehow with the Others. Much of speculation here, I know, but it's the best i can guess.
PD1: my greetins to all of you, old guys and new, since it's been a lot of time with no post from me.
PD2: It's a bit offtopic, but yesterday when I read the chapter Azizal quoted above, I took notice that Ser Karyl Vance could be working with the BwB, cause he's the first to suggest Jaime to go to Raventree, ending it all up with Jaime in Pennytree, closely spoted, and with his feet set on the Lady Stoneheart's trap. What ya think?
We're all part of this Song. Martin, nor your Song neiter you will ever die.
